The conference "Modern trends in abdominal oncology"

September 23-24, 2010 at the beautiful estate near Moscow in a restored great hall of the main building of Moscow cancer hospital number 62 was held the conference "Modern trends in abdominal oncology." Leading endoscopic diagnosticians and surgeons of Russia were gathered. The main surprise was the arrival of the leading Japanese endoscopists Takeo Fukagawa  and Ichiro Oda. Foreign masters of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment brought the newest manipulation gastroscopy, allowing to carry out surgery on the stomach without opening the abdomen. The conference was scheduled to load advanced domestic endoscopists and surgeons in the atmosphere of the latest Japanese technology in the field of early diagnosis of primary cancers of the digestive system and the respiratory system.

More than a dozen patients with early cancer of the gastrointestinal tract have been prepared for demonstration. Eight of them have been selected for endoscopic surgery, which for two days were parallel in different operating rooms. The conference participants were able to observe at the same time a general view of the operating field and direct the operation. Chairman of the conference could switch the monitor and comment on the most crucial moments of operation. During the preparatory phase leading experts gave lectures and shared their experiences of early diagnosis of cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.
