Tadayoshi Takano in 1941 established Takano Factory as his private company at Mukojima, Tokyo. The company originally made a brand TAKANO HeartWorks, with the motto: "Technology adds affection". Since TAKANO HeartWorks has plenty of know-how in manufacturing field, it makes better use of it to create wider and more suitable services. To contribute to society in a broader and deeper manner, TAKANO HeartWorks has engaged in the development and sale of healthcare products by making use of accumulated manufacturing expertise. Currently, the products in this field include wheelchairs, chairs with a function for assisting a sitter in rising from the seat, cushions for wheelchairs, walkers, and stretcher wheelchairs. These products are marketed under the single "Heart Works" brand name.
